Ali Abdullatif Ahmida was born in Waddan in southwestern Libya and obtained his undergraduate degree from Cairo University in Egypt and M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Washington in Seattle. His multidisciplinary scholarship in political theory, comparative politics, anthropology, and historical sociology has guided his professional career in his innovative research and expertise on genocide studies and anti-colonial resistance in Northern Africa.
